Day 1: Srinagar Arrival & Acclimatization

Arrive in Srinagar. Spend the day relaxing on a houseboat in Dal Lake. Acclimatize to the 1,580m altitude.

Day 2: Srinagar to Kargil (204 km, 7-8 hrs)

Drive via Sonamarg, cross the mighty Zoji La Pass. Visit the Drass War Memorial and stay overnight in Kargil town (2,676m).

Day 3: Kargil to Leh (216 km, 5-6 hrs)

Drive along the NH-1, visiting Mulbekh Chamba statue, Namika La, Fotu La (highest point on Srinagar-Leh highway), Lamayuru Monastery, Magnetic Hill, and Sangam confluence.

Day 4: Leh Local Sightseeing

Explore Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, Tsemo Castle, and Leh Market. Rest and adjust to the 3,500m elevation.

Day 5: Leh to Pangong Tso (140 km, 5 hrs)

Cross Chang La pass (5,360m). Arrive at Pangong Tso. Capture the spectacular sunset. Stay in homestays.

Day 6: Pangong Tso to Leh (via Karu)

Drive back to Leh. En route, visit Thiksey and Hemis monasteries.

Day 7: Leh Departure

Transfer to Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport for flight home.

Day 1: Arrival in Leh

Acclimatize in Leh. Check permits and rent a suitable high-ground-clearance vehicle.

Day 2: Leh to Kargil

Scenic drive along NH-1. Overnight in Kargil.
